Once again, the flagship conference of the Indian Society for Trauma and Acute Care (ISTAC®) has been a great success. The theme of TRAUMA 2009 held from 12th–15th November 2009 at the JPN Apex trauma Center, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi was “Safe Emergency Care in Disasters”.
This was a unique congress bringing
in all the specialists working in the field of trauma under one roof.
The highlight this year were the sessions by the international experts from Australia, Israel, Sri Lanka, UK and USA. As many as 16 foreign faculties from renowned trauma centers actively deliberated on a number of subjects.
Nine
concurrent workshops (ABCDE of Trauma; Maxillo-facial Workshop; Trauma
radiology workshop; Neuro-trauma workshop; Hospital preparedness in mass casualty incidents; Hospital infection control; Primary orthopedic trauma; Trauma nurse coordinator and Physiotherapy
Workshops), interactive lectures, symposia, and panel discussions were
attended by more than 700 delegates and 200 international and national
faculties.
The conference was
considered a huge success as reflected by the feedback forms received
from delegates.
